CS2 StatTrak™ Trade-Up Guide & Calculator

StatTrak™ trade-ups follow the same mechanics as regular trade-ups but with one critical difference: StatTrak skins are rarer and more expensive, creating unique profit opportunities — and risks. This guide covers what makes StatTrak contracts different.

StatTrak Trade-Up Rules

StatTrak trade-ups have specific requirements:

  • All 10 inputs must be StatTrak™ — you cannot mix StatTrak and non-StatTrak
  • The output is guaranteed StatTrak™
  • The kill counter resets to 0 on the output skin
  • Float formula works identically to regular trade-ups
  • Collection probability mechanics are the same

The key difference is economic: StatTrak versions typically cost 2–10× more than regular versions, and this ratio varies wildly between skins.

Why StatTrak Trade-Ups Can Be More Profitable

StatTrak contracts often have better ROI than regular ones because:

  • Wider price spreads: ST price differences between input and output tiers are often larger
  • Less competition: Fewer traders scan ST contracts because inputs are harder to source
  • Higher output values: ST Classified and Covert skins can be very expensive

The downside: StatTrak inputs are more expensive and sometimes have lower liquidity, making it harder to source exactly the skins you need at good prices.

Sourcing StatTrak Inputs

The biggest challenge in StatTrak trade-ups is finding 10 ST skins of the right rarity at reasonable prices:

  • Check Steam Market listings — sort by price, look for underpriced ST skins
  • Use TradeUpX's Inventory Lock feature with your own ST inventory to find contracts
  • Focus on collections with cheap ST Mil-Spec or Restricted skins
  • Buy gradually over a few days if immediate purchase is too expensive

StatTrak Trade-Up Tiers Compared

  • ST Mil-Spec → ST Restricted (€20–80): Accessible entry point. ST Restricted outputs can be 3–5× regular price.
  • ST Restricted → ST Classified (€80–300): Sweet spot. Large price differences, good liquidity on popular ST Classified skins.
  • ST Classified → ST Covert (€200–800+): Highest potential ROI but very high variance and cost. Only for large bankrolls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you mix StatTrak and non-StatTrak in a trade-up?
No. All 10 inputs must be either StatTrak or non-StatTrak. You cannot mix them.
Is the output always StatTrak if inputs are StatTrak?
Yes. StatTrak inputs always produce a StatTrak output. Regular inputs always produce a regular output.
Are StatTrak trade-ups more profitable?
Often yes, because price spreads between tiers are larger and there's less competition. But inputs are more expensive and harder to source.
