CS2 Trade-Up Guide
How to Get Factory New from CS2 Trade-Ups
Factory New skins are the most valuable wear condition in CS2 — often worth 3–20× the Field-Tested price. Getting FN output from trade-ups requires precise float targeting but can multiply your ROI dramatically.

Requirements for Factory New Output
Getting a Factory New (float < 0.07) output requires:
- Low average input float: All 10 inputs must average to a low enough float
- FN-capable output: The output skin must support FN (min_float < 0.07)
- Correct formula calculation: output_float = avg_input × (max - min) + min must be < 0.07
Not all skins support Factory New. Some have a minimum float of 0.10+ (like the AK-47 | Redline), meaning FN is physically impossible regardless of input floats.
Skins with the Highest FN Premiums
These are the types of skins where FN output dramatically increases value:
- AK-47 patterns: FN premiums of 3–15× FT are common
- AWP skins: FN can command 5–20× FT price on popular patterns
- M4A4/M4A1-S: FN premiums of 2–8× typical
- Deagle skins: Popular patterns have 3–10× FN premiums
The scanner identifies these high-premium output skins and calculates whether FN targeting is worth the extra input cost.
Practical FN Targeting Steps
- Find a profitable contract in the scanner
- Check FN feasibility — does the output skin support FN?
- Calculate required avg input float — usually needs to be below 0.06–0.10
- Source low-float inputs — FN inputs (0.00–0.07) are ideal
- Use Mixed Float if full FN inputs are too expensive — combine 3–4 FN main skins with cheap fillers
- Verify the math — use the float calculator to confirm output wear

Frequently Asked Questions
Can every CS2 skin be Factory New?
No. Each skin has a minimum and maximum float value. Some skins have min_float of 0.06 (FN possible) while others start at 0.10+ (FN impossible).
What float do my inputs need for FN output?
It depends on the output skin's float range. For a skin with min=0.00, max=1.00, you need avg input float below 0.07. For tighter ranges, the threshold differs.
Is Factory New targeting always more profitable?
Not always. If the FN premium is small or FN inputs are very expensive, standard trade-ups may have better ROI. Always compare both options.
