CS2 Covert to Gold Trade-Ups - 5 Covert Skins to Knives or Gloves
Covert to Gold trade-ups are the high-value CS2 contract tier: 5 Covert weapon skins can produce one Gold Special Item. TradeUpX scans the eligible case pools, prices, float ranges and output odds so you can compare knife and glove contracts before risking capital.

A Gold trade-up uses exactly 5 Covert weapon skins. The inputs must come from cases or collections that have a Gold Special Item pool. The output is one Gold item from the weighted case pool.
- Normal Covert inputs: can output normal knives or gloves when the case pool supports them.
- StatTrak Covert inputs: can output StatTrak knives. StatTrak gloves are not valid outputs.
- No 10-skin logic: this tier is separate from normal 10-input trade-ups.
Case Weighting and Output Odds
Gold contracts are weighted by the cases represented in your 5 inputs. If all 5 inputs are from the same case, that case has 100% of the output pool. If you mix 4 skins from Case A and 1 skin from Case B, the odds are 80% Case A and 20% Case B.
Within each case pool, TradeUpX distributes the case weight across the possible Gold outputs. This makes mixed-case contracts easy to compare by EV instead of guessing from screenshots.
Float Formula for Gold Outputs
Covert to Gold uses normalized input floats. Each input is converted to a percentile inside its own float range, then the average percentile is mapped onto each possible knife or glove output.
normalized = (input_float - input_min) / (input_max - input_min)
output_float = output_min + avg_normalized * (output_max - output_min)
This is critical for Doppler, Gamma Doppler, Fade, Marble Fade and other tight-float knife finishes where a small float change can move thousands of euros in output value.
Why Price Quality Matters
Gold outputs can be expensive and phase-sensitive. TradeUpX treats Doppler and Gamma Doppler variants separately and uses conservative pricing for high-value outputs. The scanner is built to avoid fake EV from stale, missing or impossible prices.
Before buying inputs, refresh prices and verify that the specific output pool and input listings still exist. Gold trade-ups have high variance even when the expected value is positive.
